Short film festival seeking videos
The fourth-annual Siouxland Inspirational Short Film Festival will be held Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center auditorium in Sioux City, Iowa. Admission is free.
Goal: Inspirational and Historical Films Wanted
The goal of the Siouxland inspirational Film Festival is to showcase short films that are inspiring, heartwarming, thought-provoking, family-friendly and entertaining.
Our film festival seeks to be an alternative to the Hollywood sex, violence and immorality permeating much of the movie industry. We are looking for positive films with highly-moral characters, who are involved in plots exhibiting traditional values. A historical category of films will also be selected, screened and judged.
Filmmakers: Entry Info
A screening committee will judge submitted short films for acceptance into the festival and notify filmmakers of their selections. Preferred films will be in English language and between 2-20 minutes in length.
A People’s Choice Awards table will be set up. No cash prizes with our low-budget operation. Winners still get bragging rights!
Filmmakers will receive invitations to attend the festival and free admission. Following the screenings, filmmakers in attendance may be interviewed by the host at the reception after the screenings. Treats and beverages will be available in the reception room.
Films can be dramas, comedies, animations, documentaries, Faith-based, or student categories, as long as they leave the audience enlighted, uplifted and joyous. A special category of historical films has been added.
Clean-language short films produced by fledgling filmmakers and Midwest regional filmmakers may be given preference.
Film Submission Guidelines:
We generally prefer films made after January 1, 2018. The Festival does not require première status for submissions.
The Filmmaker grants the Siouxland Inspirational Film Festival the rights to: (a) Exhibit the film in the Siouxland Inspirational Film Festival. (b) Reproduce the film for inclusion as part of a compilation.
(c) Exhibit a portion of the production for the trailer for the purposes of promoting the festival.
(d) Permission to exhibit your film again if the film festival is repeated, such as at a community center, Church Hall or a small town film fest.
The filmmaker warrants to have obtained all the necessary permissions to enter this film and that the film does not infringe the rights, including copyright, of any third party. This includes use of music and literary material (i.e. if your film is based on a novel or poem).
The entry deadline is Sept. 30, 2023. Entries will not be considered valid until the entry fee has been paid. In the event of a film withdrawing, the entry fee is non-refundable.
When a film is selected for screening, the filmmaker will be sent a confirmation.
Films in English only. The judge’s decision and people’s choice awards are final.
The Film Festival will only screen productions finished as high resolution: H.264 or MP4 digital file (the following codecs will NOT be accepted FLV, WMV, AVI, or any low res files).
Please do NOT mail a DVD or thumb drive directly to the festival.
Note: ENTERING A FILM IN THIS FESTIVAL IMPLIES THE ACCEPTANCE OF THESE REGULATIONS.
